It was popular in France, Spain, Belgium, Austria, the Netherlands, Syria, Ukraine, Greece, Russia, Italy, Germany, Poland and the United Kingdom. It is one of the few songs in French, or indeed any other language apart from English, to be a UK Top 10 hit. The video for the single, which was the first to be filmed of her, showed Alizée as a village girl visiting a night-club and showcasing Alizée's image as a seductive Lolita character, referring to the novel by Vladimir Nabakov.
